As the title states, this is the last formal portfolio update that I’ll be doing. This is partially due to having reached and exceeded the goal that I had set at the outset. In hindsight, the result was obvious but when I started this experiment I didn’t really know if any of this would be possible. Any number of setbacks could have derailed this effort. Now that I’ve proved to myself and to a lesser extent, my humble readership, that setting aggressive financial goals is realistic and achievable, I feel less motivation to continue with periodic report out. The goal was to hit a number to release me from financial shackles, not to get rich.
I’ll still continue investing and curating my portfolio. I’ll even make some market commentary here and there but I think I’ll shift away from reporting the absolute portfolio value. Rather, I’ll focus on passive income generation strategies (the wheel, margin, poor man’s covered calls, and other simple options strategies). When I eventually leave work, these strategies will be my primary income source and I’ll want to document my experiments and share what works and what doesn’t.
